I’m trying to decide where to post miles for a British Airways first trip next week (AA or AS). It seems from several posts in this thread when the loyalty points post they post retroactively back to the date they were earned.
With that methodology in mind, is it fairly safe to assume that if I fly out this British Airways ticket next week and post it, and then the loyalty points and updated EP status post afterward, that the earned miles and points will be retroactively adjusted? Or is that not a safe assumption?
Possibilities...
1. Miles for flights flown since March CC close date (when LPs would normally have posted) will be correctly adjusted retroactively. Highly unlikely.
2. You call to get them adjusted retroactively and they do it. Maybe.
3. You call and they say your status changes when the CC miles actually post, so any flights flown before then are credited based on your old status. Probably.
This is just my guess. Some folks may have experience with delays in crediting miles from partner airlines, hotels, etc that push you into a new status. Is anything done retroactively in that case?
