BISHA is an interesting property, for sure - it’s definitely not bad, but I’m unsure why I would pick this property over something cheaper, like the Westin or Sheraton. While it feels more like a W than a Luxury Collection, I understand why they slotted it into this brand. Unfortunately, the physicality issues (low-rise, poor views) are quite similar to the real W Toronto :-) Here are my impressions and photos:

Pros:
  • I am honestly unsure about what room type I ended up actually getting - the app showed an upgrade to “The Andy” and at check-in, I was told that this was a “junior room with bathtub” - I asked about suites and was told there was one on the 3rd floor, but that it “was more used for office meetings” (not sure what that means) - I did see many suite types available online, but the room I ended up with seemed kind of like a suite to me, so I am confused - I would describe the room as a Junior Suite
  • The bed is comfortable - plush mattress, plush covers, plush pillows
  • Shower pressure is good with lots of water flow from the rainfall head
  • Design and decor is eclectic with lots of art
  • Couch was decently comfortable
  • While the only in-room welcome gift was a handwritten note, I was given a drink voucher which was valid for a signature cocktail at the lobby bar - enjoyed my blackberry margarita
  • Breakfast is good - I attached the menu below - it is a selected menu with beverage choice - the breakfast sandwich was good (though, impossible to eat without a fork) and the potato rosti were fantastic - no views due to poor weather but could be pretty on a nicer day - drip coffee was good
  • Service was generally friendly throughout
  • Was given 4 PM late checkout after I asked for 1 PM

Cons:
  • Horrid view with dirty windows - something about this view really depressed me - would have preferred a wall as it would have been more private without apartments right across
  • Woke up to a bill with some confusing minibar charges - odd as no one came in to check - front desk was equally confused and quickly removed the charges
  • A few stains here and there on a couple of the pillow cases

Right now, this is a good points redemption, but if I was spending the cash, I would do the Westin (but I really like the Westin).
