I put RC a step below PH and have PH on the same level at St Regis and Waldorf Astoria.
I have stayed at a few Ritz Carltons and I tend to book them when I want to switch my brain off because they are incredibly consistent where it matters - the factory style soft product - to the point it's jarring when they aren't (RC Melbourne comes to mind). Low expectations are still consistent expectations.
PH I feel has the opposite problem - the quality of design is generally higher, but it's such an inconsistent brand in terms of service and lacks an ethos. I've had Park Hyatts try and charge me to use the spa locker room to change (after a late checkout could not be accommodated) where a Ritz would never.
