March April Stay

Had a very nice stay late March into April. Reserved King Corner City View and was assigned a Heritage Suite a week out. I thanked the hotel for the upgrade but requested something with a better view that wasn't devoid of natural light. Was assigned a King Junior Suite on the 15th floor with a pretty good view situated over the main entrance at check in. During my 8 day stay I had multiple interactions with front desk, guest services, housekeepers, engineering, and breakfast staff and found all great ... hotel was well run. Was offered 4pm checkout and accepted. I later remembered I had a 9PM flight out of SIN and requested and received 5PM checkout.

The hotel location is in Bugis Junction which is directly connected to the MRT Bugis stop and is a very easy/cheap ~50min/$2.10 SGD trip to/from SIN Changi airport. See pics below for step-by-step. Bugis Junction also contains retail including a nice Cold Storage grocery store. The Andaz Singapore is also connected to the MRT Bugis in the DUO Tower [MY ANDAZ REVIEW].

The King Junior Suite had decent view of the sea/city when air quality allowed, see pics. The room had lots of space to stretch out and included a nice comfy chair and a sofa bed. There was carpet in the living/bedroom areas that was ok and I liked the decor. The foyer had a bench and cabinet for storage of your stuff. Nicely decorated bathroom though average shower. Nice quality towels. The living area had a nice desk, side table, and plug setup that worked nicely as a travel office/laptop home. WIFI was strong and fast. Living/bedroom areas had large TVs that were HDMI dongle compatible. The trick was you had to install the dongle, unplug the hotel feed lan cable, then shutdown/start the TV; at start up the source select becomes enabled. Minibar was average. There's an OK gym and pool ... the pool seating fills up quick. As mentioned in this thread the carpet in the common areas was very dirty/stained.

The breakfast in the ground floor Breakfast room had tons of options and gets busy quick, see pics. On the ground floor there's also the Lobby Lounge that serves a subset of the in-room dining and onsite restaurants. Didn't try but it was always busy so must be worthwhile, see pics. Didn't check out the other onsite restaurants.

Had access to InterContinental Club so tried out breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening services, see pics. I really liked the club decor and staff; however, based on my limited club frequenting I'd rate this club as average at best. Breakfast downstairs has so many options, but if you're happy with the club hot offering available to order along with the less numerous extras then you may want to consider. I stopped by the club after eating breakfast downstairs an hour after open ... and while it was starting to get busy downstairs, there was only one person eating breakfast in the club. Afternoon tea and especially evening cocktails / canapes had a much higher attendance early. Afternoon tea offerings were average .. evening cocktails / canapes was ok though booze choices weren't extensive.
