I have a flex ticket KHH-HKG-MEL, where KHH-HKG is B class, while HKG-MEL is R class. I am currently booked for the evening KHH-HKG flight. Can I show up at KHH earlier in the day and request to fly an earlier flight without paying to change the ticket?


I ask because I cannot change the ticket for free, despite the fact that the two fare classes are still available on the respective flights (according to expertflyer.com). The CS agent told me that they can only price the ticket according to what is being sold on CX's website. Is that the correct answer? I thought I could make the change for free as long as the original fare class is available.
