We spent much of our first day on the beach just de-compressing.

The hotel has some comfy chaise lounges on the beach as well as some complimentary beach activities. We posted up there and enjoyed ourselves.

Table service is also offered on the beach. We had a very nice lunch while being lulled to sleep by the gentle wave action of the sea.

I also got a massage that day at the hotel spa. The spa was stunning and relaxing.

The massage was consisted of the therapist shocked by my high stress level, contorting me in manners I didn’t know possible, and me trying not to scream from the pain. I somehow survived and felt amazing afterwards.

We booked a Da Nang food tour that evening. Our tour guide and driver met us in the lobby. After quick introductions, the driver wheeled us to Da Nang proper.

Our first stop was at Bai Lan 34 for some fantastic banh mi and very tasty rice dish with dried pork and pate.

The driver picked us up again after we finished.

We got dropped off along the bank of the Han River

Our next stop was at a coffee shop overlooking the river. Mrs. D4L had the first of many delicious coconut coffees, and I had passion fruit juice.

We then walked over to the Han Market.

We ended buying some of the most delicious cashew nuts and dried mangoes.

After wrapping up at the Han Market, we headed back over to the river to a Mi Quang Ech.

Mi Qunah Ech is known for their Frog leg curry. I loved it, but Mrs. D4L was lukewarm on it.

We also bun cha with rice paper wrap, which was delicious.

The driver picked us back up and brought us across the Han River, where we took a stroll along the opposite bank.

The Son Tran night market was our next destination, with intermediary stop at what Mrs. D4L deemed sketchy sugar cane juice cart.

The guys manning the cart fired up the two stroke engine and pressed some of the freshest sugar cane juice I’ve ever tasted.

Then it was few more steps over to the night market, which was lively and vibrant.

Dessert was at a rolled ice cream stand.

We shared mango and durian ice cream rolls which was delicious.

And then we went back to hotel for a fitful night of sleep.
