I am based in Calgary, and in 2024, I had three major flights to Asia, twice to Narita, and once to BKK, and all my connection times were screwed due to YYC-YVR AC flights, and I had zero time to visit the AC Signature Suite at all.

last week I spent $6400 booking a flight to SVG via YYZ and Copenhagen. I purposely booked my YYC to YYZ flight an early flight so it will leave me plenty of time to visit the YYZ Signature Lounge again….then, Yesterday AC notified me that AC 828 would have delayed departure which may affect my CPG to SVG connection. Two hours later, they sent me a rerouted flight from Calgary to Frankfurt with Discover Airlines, without even giving me any choices or asking if I would like to cancel. First, I don’t like flying Discover Airlines. second, I could just cancel my original booking with AC and rebook myself with Discover Airlines for $1000 cheaper. Third, the Discover Airlines has a lousy gate spot in Frankfurt without a jet bridge, always parked at kilometres away and bus shuttled to some point for connection, if on time and not being asked to wait. Fourth, if I take this itinerary, I will wait 12 hrs at FRA.

i just wonder what AC is trying to do in this case. Literally I called the service desk after the midnight, asking about this itinerary rescheduling. Then they resubmitted my original booking with a new connection from Copenhagen to SVG.

my point is that, you just have to complain to them when they are just doing lousy jobs, if not about screwing you.
