If there is a time change on a booked award ticket flight, you can cancel the flight free of charge and receive the right to extend the miles for three years.
If you issue a Round the World ticket and book 11 flights one year in advance, you can assume that one of the flights will have a time change.　
I just recently took advantage of this and extended my miles for 3 years.　Good luck.
