In the sleeping airports article, it states if you are landside you may not be able to get through. This is the case from my experience.

I'm unsure specifically of checkpoint timings, but I've been turned away for arriving more than 4 hours before my flight - in the late morning for an evening flight.

There is no dedicated security for flagship check in, it is only dedicated check in. It leads to the same lines to the same checkpoints, although you'll get an escort to the front of the line (for the podium) during busy times.
