Question on a cancelled flight. I was supposed to fly on flight 746 from CLT to JAX late in the evening on March 16th. There were some delays earlier that day from an early morning weather event, but our plane was at CLT and had come in internationally. They said they were waiting on the plane to be searched and cleared before we could board. After multiple delays, right around midnight, I stepped away to use the bathroom, and got a notification on my AA app that the flight was cancelled. It's not a big deal, but is there any way to get my hotel bill reimbursed, or is that not permissible since I booked on my own? It definitely was well worth it not to wait in the lines at CLT, and I'll gladly eat the cost if I must, but I'm just wondering if I have any sort of claim, and if so, what's the best way to try to seek reimbursement. Thanks for any info.
How did you pay for your ticket? Some credit cards offer trip-delay insurance which might reimburse your hotel expense even if AA doesn't. You should first request from AA an explanation for the delay. Submit your request here:
