I’ve had it work in my favor once, when the FAs asked people to hold up their hand if they were connecting to one of a certain list of cities, and then the guy in the aisle seat was rather adamant about getting people to make room for me when he noticed I was in that group. In general, though, I agree completely. It’s particularly irritating when they do it for a flight that arrives prior to A+15 — in other words, on-time by the FAA stats. If you can’t make your connection when the flight arrives at A+14, that’s on your poor planning.
