New Dual-Brand IHG Hotel Coming to Granby, Quebec – Opening Spring 2026

A new 128-room hotel is on the horizon in Granby, Quebec, as Groupe Robin announces the construction of its fifth hotel – a $20 million CAD project set to open in spring 2026.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, the Quebec-based developer marks the occasion with a return to Granby, a city that has long held meaning for the company.

The new property will be a dual-branded hotel operated under the IHG umbrella, combining Holiday Inn Express & Suites and Candlewood Suites.

Located at the intersection of Highways 112 and 139, the hotel will feature 83 rooms and 45 extended-stay studios. A future expansion adding 40 more rooms is already under consideration.
The hotel will be LEED-certified, aligning with sustainable building practices. It will be supported by a team of approximately 30 staff members and aims to serve both tourists and business travellers.

Granby’s tourism industry – including attractions like the Granby Zoo, local sports tourism, and its industrial park – makes the city an attractive destination for investment.

Construction is already underway behind the existing Motel Granby. Nellie Robin confirmed that preliminary talks have taken place with the motel’s owner regarding a potential acquisition, though no sale is currently in progress.

This development is seen as a timely addition to Granby’s limited hotel capacity, particularly during large sporting events and tournaments.
