Westjet may offer seat assignments and web check-in
I asked WS about when they will have web check-in at 7:50am THIS MORNING and received this reply LESS THAN AN HOUR LATER:

I am sorry for any frustrations our current check-in procedure is creating for you.
As you know, WestJet’s seating assignment is done at the airport on a first come first serve basis. However, we are currently reviewing the possibility of adding pre-seat assignment and web check-in to our services, as we realize the importance of this feature. Please look forward to more updates regarding this matter within the next couple of months.

I tried checking in at the downtown kiosk this am as I hate middle seats and got rejected as being outside the 3.5 hour window, hence my inquiry. You have to be impressed by the speed of the reply though!!
Maybe someone knows more details?
