45. OKC-LGA Main Cabin (T) DL4118(OO) (Flying Blue award)

I was a bit stressed with returning the rental car before this early morning flight, but Oklahoma City airport turned out to be better than most European airports. Check-in was pleasant, security was efficient and friendly, and there was enough time in the airy gate area before departure. The flight was wide open and the gate agent told us to sit where we wanted. Boarding was one of the most calm airport experiences I have ever had.

This SkyWest Airlines operated flight was very good and the cabin crew were friendly enough. For me an Embraer 175 aircraft is a bit too small for flights that last more than 2 hours but the seats were reasonably comfortable and did not feel too cramped. There was more service in the Main Cabin than I expected, with a drinks trolley run and multiple passes offering varied snacks. As usual, I had a ginger ale and a coffee at the same time as well as numerous snack items, which is way more than you get on European airlines these days. The flight route to New York was fairly direct and took us through a bit of turbulence later on. There were spectacular views of La Guardia airport before we came in to land. The only problem on this flight was that it was far too cold and there were no blankets.

Boarding the early morning SkyWest Airlines flight from Oklahoma City back to New York La Guardia airport

Business class seating on the SkyWest Embraer aircraft

Inflight Economy class catering on SkyWest was really quite good

In fact, the catering was downright generous
