No need to be patronizing. To the contrary, as a (now retired) lawyer, I have seen many M&A’ s, probably more than most people. Again, this one seems to me like over-promised and under-delivered on an issue that does not seem that hard to fix, and could have been handled better. I agree that there may be further announcements and if there is a “new, combined” frequent flyer program (you seem confident that it “will be materially different,” do you have actual information on this?) then I will evaluate it and praise it if I think it is good. In the meantime, we are all entitled to our opinions, and at least at the moment my opinion of this, again admittedly first-world, problem is not very favorable. Rant over.
