I can't say that I've run into this situation before. I generally stay at a healthy mix of hotels across multiple brands and keep a healthy points balance in each program until I find a worthwhile redemption. Somehow I haven't stayed in a Hilton in a while.

Hilton points expire after 24 months of inactivity. My last points activity (points earned from stay) was 25 months ago. Somehow I still have the points in my account. If I do something now to generate some activity (ie buy points) will that save my points, or will they just take the expiring points later?

EDIT: I was too impatient to wait for a reply and figured $10 is not a huge amount to spend just to try to save my points, so I bought 1,000 points for $10. Fingers crossed that this works!
