If departing from HKG, boarding pass will say boarding time is 40 minutes before flight departure but almost always, boarding will not start until 30 minutes before departure. I think it’s because CX wants people to arrive at the gate earlier than actual boarding time to create a sense of urgency for those passengers who can’t keep track of time.
