Didn’t realize it was a Premier benefit, but, sadly, it’s going away:

The following United Explorer Card benefit will no longer be available after August 1, 2025:
• Premier upgrades on award tickets when available on United-operated flights
Award tickets booked and flown before August 1, 2025, will still be eligible for upgrades (based on availability).
