I have the opposite feeling about this. I am part of the 5% of the population who is deeply introverted and I would be humiliated if this ever happened to me in front of a plane full of strangers. I already want to crawl under my seat when DL crew comes to my seat to thank me for my DM/MM status. As I approached 1MM I went out of my way to ensure that I specifically crossed 1M with a 15k MQM Amex status boost and even flew a few flights without inputting my SM number until after the flight. Just a different perspective than those who enjoy public recognition.
