I don't think you should expect the hotel to do this for free.

Last year, I left a Mont Blanc fountain pen in Sheraton Grand EDI. I called the hotel up and they found it. I was asked me what delivery option I prefer. I said recorded delivery and they asked, and I happily gave, my credit card details to pay for this.
