I can’t imagine any scenario where BA has the upper hand in negotiations.
By alienating their most loyal customers, BA have also undermined their partnerships. To top the whole thing off, they’ve done it just as demand appears to be softening and the US3 are sounding cautious about profits.
the way i see it, BA is hoping amex/chase will cough up more money to pay for the TPs, but amex/chase must be wondering what or how much are we getting out of this since the companion pass will motivate the first 15k gbp and 30k usd spend, so why pay more? i hope amex/chase doesnt cave and let this implode
and also agree that the way BA executed this has further weakened their hand and obviously not what chase/amex signed up for. idk if there is any exit clause, but would be real hilarious if a BA card gets dropped
