I may be confused whether the reviving thread is a review or there are specific questions. But based on the following thread, I do have comments based on our last visit two years ago.
We have stayed here several times would stay here again. It was not built as an HP and is built very different than a standard US property. The rooms are smaller than many, furniture is almost all built in, and it is heavier on the formica.
The restaurant is more comparable with a US three-star chain hotel. One dinner and one breakfast were both good. The breakfast buffet was standard full British and offered multiple choices. The staff was helpful with spouse's dietary allergies. At that time there was a breakfast rate that was discounted from the walk-up price. (I "think" free for Globs only).
If you are going to be there several days, there are also lots of other dining options within walking distance--except on Sunday. Then it is just the hotel and a McDonalds.
It is probably a better spot if you want to visit Windsor than backtracking all the way from London. (If you want to do that PM me. Doable on public transit with a connection in Slough).
