So despite the lack of reviews and potentially points I decided to spend my first night (out of 792) in a non full service Hyatt…

Apart from the location (they say opposite the main train station but it’s in fact in/above it) and the restaurant and bar being closed on Sunday evenings (but that’s apparently the case for all the restaurants in town so the nice receptionist found me the only option opened in a walking distance) it was a decent one night stay and I wouldn’t mind staying again (even if not looking forward to it contrary to most of my other regular Hyatt hotels…).

I had booked a junior suite which is a lot of space for a single traveller and would easily accommodate a couple with a child. I got one on the top (7th) floor with a nice view on the coach station…:

Overall the hard product is a bit outdated but clean, working properly and comfortable and the bathroom is the most modern part.

Website photos of the suite truly reflect the reality: comfortable king bed and large non separated living area:

Strange half separated are with a desk and bath?

And as said a fully separated bathroom with a large walk in shower:

Basic welcome gift of 2 bags of crips, bowls of nuts and beers:

It’s confirmed that the hotel will become a Hyatt Place (that’s already the password for the wifi) but I didn’t ask when and if it will include any change in the hard or soft product.

Breakfast (free apparently even if it was not mentionned in the rate I booked) starts at 6:30am so will try to quickly go before leaving for my first meeting…
