Not likely but travel insurance and/or credit card travel disruption are potential options.
Not it was a one way award booking (JAL -> LATAM). I've never filed a travel card disruption claim, but it didn't look like this scenario was covered by AMEX or CHASE. Not sure points can be reiumbursed (maybe cash value?) or the cost of the new flight.
