I just did it again and went all the way to the end. It only allows me to purchase the ticket, no fare lock offer for May 31, 2025 LAX-EWR, and the same for a return flight in June. The LAX-EWR-LAX is always a United flight. Maybe they aren't offering fare lock on this route?
I am having the same issue for the same date for ORD/RSW. No option for farelock on either the app or online. I have another trip for Mrs WJJ and me for earlier in May on the same route that is farelocked for a few more days that is unrelated to this reservation for just me. Could the other reservation with a farelock be the problem (we are both on the same reservation for that one)?
Update.....Called customer service and they booked it with farelock and waived the phone reservation fee since I could not do it on the app or web site. The rep had no idea why it was not showing up online.
