Being totally new to the BAEC i'm following all the rules and trying to find a qualifying flight.
Whats the shortest or cheapest qualifying flight I can get from Manchester.
I mean, a cheap RT Man to LHR will cost me around £40+taxes...but i'm told (by the nice BA lady)it's not a qualifying flight as it's economy (lowest)
If I take economy (flexible) thats OK but the cost is around £250.

Anyone have suggestions? I'm not trying to cheat BA I just want to do the qualifying flight correctly.
I will be buying 3 WT+ LHR to Sydney in October/ November so I need my BAEC account set up well before then.
Just another question....is there some milage difference between a WT+ (lowest) ticket and WT+ (flexible) ticket???

The cheapest fare from MAN-LHR is an H class fare, you can't book it online as it falls between "cheapest" and "flexible", sort of semi-flexible. Unfortunately BA will charge you about 15 GBP to book this over the phone, I think the fare itself is about 170 GBP.

Do you need to get your BAEC account set up before your SYD trip? If not, you could wait until then as the WT+ flights are qualifying and you'd get the points and miles if they acted as your qualifying flights.

In regards of points miles, there is no difference on WT+ between cheapest and flexible, they both get the same cabin bonuses for miles and points. The same goes for Club and First. It is only Economy (World Traveller) points and miles which are affected by the "cheapest" option.
