Emailed a few times and also called the Ultimate line (KLM, Dutch line) and they indicate that there is no availability despite plenty of availability showing up on the KLM website. The agent indicated she needs X inventory (which does not exist on Expert Flyer).
I could have counted this as another bug on the AF/KLM/FB IT universe. But funnily enough, I faced the EXACT same issue when trying to book another PG flight using FB miles a month ago (this time for a USM-SIN flight). Availability was showing up, but same error. The Ulti agent managed to book it after a simple email in less than an hour. When the second agent looked at it, she indicated that this flight was indeed booked in X. She tried "two different techniques" to book it while I was with her on the phone with no success. When I indicated the name of her colleague who managed to book my USM-SIN flight a couple weeks earlier, she told me she would check with him but haven't heard back...
In parallel, I tried to book the same flight using QR avios, but got the reply that there was no availability.
I am wondering if there is something wrong IT wise between PG and their partner airlines... I am also very puzzled with KLM website returns availability while AF does not. I thought they shared the same award platform (if not even the same booking platform).
Interested to hear about your thoughts here...
no idea on your problem, but I would just say that booking PG flights with FB miles is one of the worst redemption in term of value for money (= miles).
