Should I conclude from this that I will not be able to check in for the QR segments at T-48 hrs, and that check in for the whole outbound itinerary will be done by IB, and therefore the T-24 timing applies?

I assume OLCI for QR is done via QR and not done via IB, although I'm not sure if you can OLCI for the QR legs at 48H when the first IB leg has not been OLCI until 24hrs

QR is rather popular so I'll let others help you....sorry...
