The booking confirmation email from Booking also mentions this about crediting (and I believe it's mentioned on the site as well while booking):

But I've had the same experience, sometimes it took a few days sometimes it took months. Perhaps they are just processing them at a certain interval and you can get (un)lucky timing with it.
