At the Fairfields I stayed at in 2021 during my cross country (U.S.) drive, each one was immaculate with no problems like cracks in grout, misaligned doors, and the like. And there was free breakfast (various baked goods including bread, bagels, butter, jelly, Philadelphia cream cheese, toaster, hard boiled and/or scrambled eggs, hot and cold cereals, fresh fruit, etc.) for everyone, not just elites. A couple of years ago I stayed at a fairly new Courtyard in Bangkok (Soi 20) and it was quite nice, -- clean, modern, very well-provisioned breakfast (don't know if breakfast was for everyone or just elites), very nice pool area including bar, incredibly nice and accommodating staff.
