A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I were booked to fly AMS-CDG-MAD. After the AMS-CDG flight was cancelled, we were re-booked on UX AMS-MAD, which not only cut out a segment, but put us in an ineligible fare class that earned nothing at all.

Thankfully I was able to call the PSL and had the missing XP and miles in my wife's account in Uber 5 minutes. It took me longer to find the bloody PSL number than it did to get this sorted out

Although it would be nice to know, for those who aren't Platinum, what's the best way to deal with this? I tried the online retro credit form and it rejected the PNR and told me to call customer service. Although at the same time, it did switch to the detailed ticket number/flight form for retro credit, so I'm not sure whether to believe the error message or just submitting it with the flight details would have worked.
