I am coming here looking for advice before I take any more formal action.

I booked a Free Night Certificate stay at Hyatt Place Pasadena for today. This was a leisure stay where I was going to Pasadena to see a taping of a TV show.
My flight into LA was cancelled and I cannot get another flight in that will allow me to make it in time.

The hotel says that not only will I lose my Free Night Certificate (or "points" as they call it) but they will charge me the published rate for the room. They referred me to World of Hyatt to discuss. WoH says I need to speak to a manager at the property.

I reached back out to the hotel and told them all of this, they said I lose the points and have to pay for the room in cash. Seriously?

Anyone have any experience with this?
