Also, why does the retrofitting take so long? With the current figures of approximately 150 aircraft still to go and an average time of 37,5 days per aircraft which makes them roll out 20 updated cabins per year. It will take them another 8 years to complete the retrofit. With them upgrading newer aircraft before older ones it seems like these older aircraft would have been taken out of the fleet already anyway right?

Using the sheet as a source. Thanks for sharing btw.
Starlink works extremely well on QR, so if true, that would be really good. Although, personally I did quite enjoy the relative peace and quiet of no / poor wifi on board, but that was never bound to last.

The 77Ws are being retrofitted much faster (I think there’s a small error in the average calculation that’s skewing that number, if I’m reading the formula right) than the 388s, so while they focus on 77Ws the rate will pick up, and as that winds down, the rate will slow down, all things being constant. Main constraints previously indicated are parts (supply chains are still clogged up) and shortage of staff, and I believe that’s more severe for the 388s. But have also read that they’d like to get rid of the old J seat ASAP, although that sounds convenient.

Haven’t seen anyone say it definitively, but yes, it would appear that retrofitting the newer airframes they expect to keep longer in the hope that Boeing gets its act together is the plan, at least for the 77Ws.
