The service was good, but not as excellent as usual on Austria. There was nothing I could complain about, but it was the little things like serving lukewarm bread and a long gap between the bread and the appetizer. Or not being as attentive to keeping drinks refilled. Solid crew, but not the outstanding crew I have been privileged to have on my numerous other OS long-haul flights.

I have one complaint, but it is unrelated to the crew. The menu for the main courses was, well, bizarre.
The choices were a grilled fillet of pork, baked cod with shrimp in a crayfish sauce or ricotta-filled pasta.
To me, offering grilled pork instead of beef is a cost-cutting measure and not impressive.
The fish option sounded bizarre, and the combinations didn't make sense.

What would have been nice is if there was an Austo-Hungarian option on the menu. We have so many iconic dishes. Why not put them into the spotlight?
I'd have liked to see a goulash option, possibly, or even a Tafelspitz. Maybe even a Wienerschnitzel with potato salad (ok, this would be hard to execute well, but I'm sure Do&Co could sort it out!)
The dessert was good, but again- it missed the mark. Apfelstrudel, Kasierschmarrn or Linzertorte would have been appreciated.

Starter: Sweet potato & coconut soup + the cold veal dish. The veal was fine, but the soup was outstanding. Really excellent.


Main course: Homemade pasta filled with ricotta in a parmesan sauce. This was quite good, very tasty. Perfectly al-dente. Not a dish I would normally order, but the other choices were not interesting to me.


Dessert: White chocolate mousse.


Coffee after lunch: My favourite, Einspänner


Pre-Arrival meal: Salad. It was just Ok.
