On two different occasions I've flown HOU-DAL+DAL-LBB and had to get a boarding pass at the gate, and both times had to deal with irrelevant questions from the GA ("Where did you fly in from? Why didn't they give you a connecting pass in Houston?" etc.) This even though I'm giving them my 6-digit PNR which I've written down for their convenience, yet they still want to play twenty-questions!
I'm really sorry the kiosk is gone :-(
