E.g. off to Wellington next week, and return Jetstar with exit row seating selected was 1/3 price of Air NZ (plus I don't have to sit on a crappy ATR on the way home). Nobody can convince me an extra $400 for the privilege of a free coffee and some average lounge food is worth the difference.
Hopefully they run it again before my Elite status expires as at the current rate I'll definitely not be keeping that.
You can make a case to Qantas and email them at
[email protected] with your NZ elite card, your recent activity statement, maybe last 6 months asking for a status match or something. They might consider offering you the tier accelerator offer. I think it's 200sc within 3 months to receive gold? And you could choose the start date to coincide with your best run of flights. 80sc J TT one way, should get you there in no time. Then you've got the DSC promos, current one ends tonight but you'd be able to retain gold easily at 600sc per year.
