I was extremely grateful to be offered a free upgrade to business class at check-in by JAL.

Being a short haul flight (although the flight time was 4 hours, plus ~45 mins of ground delay), the appetiser “bento box” and main dish were served all in one tray, with dessert and hot drinks afterwards.


a very satisfying Japanese meal; particularly appreciated the marinated fish dish in the appetiser (top right corner), it seems they’re trying to serve something sashimi like on the plane, and it tasted well


Haggen Dazs ice cream (Vanila flavour) alongside hot green tea;
was slightly surprised as i’m used to seeing JAL exclusive flavours Haggen Dazs on flights departing from Japan, in economy class
