OK, as a (recent) free agent that likes champagne, I will say this is a great and nice move by Delta and this a nice gift to introduce you to what is indeed a perfectly serviceable French champagne. I just got cava in a plastic cup on jetblue mint. Sure beats that. Come on, folks..

its not that it’s not-drinkable. I think it’s much better than the swill they had.
The issue is its that Delta is trying to convince people a $50 bottle makes them PREMIUM by coasting largely on the Taittinger name. And with that comes higher fares. Again, the ME3, Singapore, JAL… now they’re pouring ACTUAL premium champagne.
