Finally writing up my trip report from early February for 3 nights @ 45k points per night + a SUA.
I thought this hotel was divine. Before my trip, I was hesitant about the high points cost at 45k per night and was hoping it wasn't a waste. Within the first day, I felt the cost was completely justified and every point was well spent. This hotel truly felt like it was on a different level. The service was impeccable and the ski in ski out location justifies the Cat 8 in my opinion. This is the first Cat 8 I have stayed at though, so frequent luxury travelers may want to take my comments with that in mind.
Upon arriving, the bell hops handled my luggage and ski gear and got me checked in immediately. I previously told the hotel I was going to arrive early and was pleasantly surprised that they granted me a ~11:30am early check in instead of the standard 4pm. I booked a 1 bedroom large residence but later found out I was upgraded to the "Two Bedroom Residence 1 King 1 Queen" with the connecting door to the 1 King blocked off for another guest, effectively making this a 1 bedroom. At the time, I was only a corporate challenge Explorist. The room was impeccably clean, and any requests for additional items were handled promptly.
This hotel has a wide range of amenities; heated driveway, hot sauna, steam sauna, game room, hot chocolate, shuttle to downtown Park City, gym, a pool and two hot tubs. I went to the hot tub every day, and almost always got a hot tub to myself. Additionally, one hot tub is very large, so you can still find some privacy even if others are using it. The gym is fairly decent, my dad who I was staying with enjoyed the Peloton bikes, there are wired headphones for the bikes in the gym if you need them. The sauna and steam room are small, can really only fit 2 people comfortably, but I never dealt with overcrowding in those during my stay.
This hotel is off the Sunrise lift and has a ski valet in lieu of ski lockers. You give them your skis/snowboard and they will set them out on the racks for you in the morning. When coming back, you just leave your skis/snowboard outside on the racks and they will bring them inside at the end of the night. You keep your boots with you. The Sunrise lift is planned to be replaced with a gondola which will make traversing the mountain from this location magnitudes easier. This hotel is also a short walk away from the Canyons Village area with the Orange Bubble Express and Red Pine Gondola.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. It is pricy both in points or cash, but I think the product backs up the price tag. If you are flush either in points/cash or have a special occasion, I would stay here. For more frequent travelers who are Hyatt loyalists, I've had good experiences at the Hyatt Place Park City which is magnitudes cheaper.
I have a YouTube video showcasing my stay. Note that I incorrectly refer to the room as a 1 bedroom large residence as that is what I booked, I later found out that I was upgraded to the "Two Bedroom Residence 1 King 1 Queen" with the connecting door to the 1 King blocked off for another guest, effectively making this a 1 bedroom.
