Interesting that tax payments is #1 on the long lists of exclusions. Perhaps an indication that Bilt (and other credit card issuers) know that many people use tax payments as a “legitimate” form of manufactured spend?
excluding tax payments is nothing new. in some countries, it is common for cards to not even award points for big ticket items such as insurance, hospital bills, tax, etc, simply because too many points will be given out. paying taxes is also not a form of manufactured spend because the expenditure is real. the only question is is it right to allow such usage; it becomes a problem when some people end up carrying a balance, which arguably shouldnt happen, because it would indicate that you have overspent
