I've used miles several times recently and got the Miles Calculator value for the upgrade, so around 30k from Economy to Business, between AUH and Europe.

This is only possible if a GuestSeat is available on your flight in the cabin above. When you see 341k quoted that is just a miles to cash conversion at something like 0.09 cents per mile, and that means no GuestSeat available.
