Disagree, while leisure travelers travel less, the UC access is part of the travel experience. They want more than the terminal experience ("free" food is an attractor as is better seating, in-person travel assistance, tramac views, ... a sense of being set apart from the terminal rabble plus the cost of a single memberships is being spread across multiple cotravelers / family members. Look at the ads, most leisure travelers.
This. I had the RCC/Club card from 2002-2016 when I was flying over 150K miles per year, most of it on UA. Because my annual UA mileage dropped and most of my flying involved locations where there was no UC, I dropped the UC and turned my AMEX green card to the plat card. Come next month I will be changing from Amex plat to Amex blue, because when we do fly, it will be in J. The rare times we fly domestic, we will have to slum it in the terminal.
