Just a heads up, it looks like the multiple claims same city/same week policy/rule is being enforced more stringently. I had planned for two separate weekend trips at the same hotel for two consecutive weekends.
I got this response:
Your claim was reviewed as consecutive nights in accordance with Marriott's Best Rate Guarantee terms and conditions which you agree to upon claim submission. Our terms and conditions state:
Claims made against only a portion of your entire scheduled stay will not be honored. Multiple claims for a stay consisting of two or more nights in the same week at the same Marriott hotel or Marriott hotels in the same geographic location (e.g., city) may be treated as one claim for one stay, even if booked through more than one reservation.
Since the checkout of my first weekend was on Sunday and my next check-in would have been on the following Friday, this would have been only five nights in between the two stays and thefefore they are considered the same week.
The agent compared the entire date range from the first Friday as check-in until Sunday of the second weekend as one stay and since the rate for that range was lower on Marriott.com she rejected the claim.

I certainly did not feel like I was trying game the "system" by property hopping and checking in and out of the same/different hotels in the same location to get the multiple claims approved.
It is okay, the rules are the rules and it is only consistent to apply them.
