The white box appears to be a touchpad for room keys/digital keys.
The intercom would presumably be a means for someone to contact the front desk if they didn't have a key (i.e., were arriving that day). Cassette tape machine to confuse those under 35 whilst on camera. Tip jar to rate the service I suppose.
