You can confirm whether you have a basic fare by looking at the fare rules under the Changes section. If it shows a fee to change, then it's standard. If it states no changes, then it's basic.

Another way to check is through My Bookings on the PD website. There's a section labelled Fare Rules which should show what type of fare you have on the PD side.

Also keep in mind that M class is not listed as an eligible fare class for mileage earning, so not clear if a Standard/Main M class fare will earn miles.
I spent at least an hour with an amazing AS agent wanting to figure this out with Porter. I must say his effort was stellar although we didn’t figure it all out. I did write in to Alaska regarding the great effort.

Porter has 26 fare classes now that is not all shown on Alaska’s earn chart. So I suspect some updating is necessary.

The best the Porter agent could tell is some of the 4-5 fare codes are each fare family on porters classic fare families. But no exact mapping was able to be provided by Porter to the AS agent.

the best we could tell is L class is the lowest fare class that will map into the standard fare class. The work around the agent suggested is to call in and ask for the L fare class. If you want to pay by your wallet. They can make a booking and hold it for you to go online and pay it.

The agent did mention he will feed this up the food chain to get this mapping resolved. At the very least m class should show as “saver” if it maps to Porter basic fares, etc.

I already sent a note outlining the full issue to Porter and hope they can resolve this asap before a deluge of AS customers show up at Porter counters refusing to pay 63 dollars for a carryon! Not to mention not being able to check in online.

keep those data points coming.
