Fast forward to today, I am on the morning widebody from DTW to PHX up front which is a breakfast flight. Once again, Only two pre-orders available:
1. Tomato, Basil & Ricotta Omelet
2. French Crepes
Both were to be served with seasonal fresh fruit and a banana muffin. I got the Omelet. Quite a sad affair as there were two little chips of hash browns and one lonely sausage. Lot's of empty space on the plate. No Fresh Fruit...instead there was a small bowl of overnight oats. No muffin/bread at all and no salt and pepper. The tray itself looked half empty. My seatmate had the same thing and his tray contained the same items as mine. A pretty disappointing service for a 3 hour 30 minute flight.
For the return flight out of PHX on Monday(also a widebody), I note I have five pre-order options including two Limited Selection dishes.
Does anyone know what the current timeline is for DTW catering to get back to normal? Are meals still being flown into DTW from other hubs? I'm getting kind of tired of the sad state of meals out of DTW.
I had a dinner flight out of DTW on March 14. There were three items to preorder (short rib, chicken, or pasta), but not limited items. None of the items were actually catered. We were given a choice of Mac & Cheese or Teriyaki Chicken. I ordered the chicken...it was tasty, served with a small salad and some type of dessert. Once again, DTW keeping it interesting!
