AS already has its hands full with HA and grandiose visions of using some of those aircraft to fly internationally. The IT situation with AS is a joke - I can't tell you how many failed award bookings I've had to deal with in the last year because their website is unable to accurately display available inventory.

What does WN get AS? I guess it gets them more 737s. They willingly gave up the old VX slots at DAL because they'd rather fly to DFW and funnel connecting traffic to AA. They already have capacity for intra-CA flying. I guess it eliminates a competitor for interisland flights between Hawaiian islands.

All of that is to say - I don't see how a smaller carrier like AS, already in the middle of its own merger, is going to acquire a larger airline that caters to customers in markers that AS has shown little to no interest in.
