The flight is DFW-HNL on a B772, which means lie flats, and IF it's a Flagship service I get lounge access...but I can't SEE Flagship anywhere on my papers or reservation. The OWE/Exec Plat is irrelevant here because it's domestic...so, do I get lounge access?
Just to clarify this post as I suspect not everyone is familiar with AA fare codes, the OP originally bought a Premium Economy ticket and then purchased a cash upgrade to First class. This particular flight has a 4 cabin service consisting of Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First class. Provided you did indeed upgrade to First class, then per the terms of the Flagship Lounge you should have access:

Qualifying other domestic

Flights with seats ticketed as Flagship® between:

  • Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Honolulu (HNL)
  • DFW and Kona (KOA)
  • DFW and Maui (OGG)
  • Chicago (ORD) and HNL
  • Charlotte (CLT) and HNL
Yes it is true you were originally booked into Premium Economy but when you have an upgrade that clears you have access to the perks of the higher cabin (including lounge).

However, you will not have access to Flagship First dining, which is a dining experience inside of the Flagship lounge which offers a sit down a-la carte dining experience, as that's only available for:

Qualifying transcontinental flights

3-class non-stop flights between:

  • New York (JFK) and Los Angeles (LAX)
  • JFK and San Francisco (SFO)
  • JFK and Orange County (SNA) – traveling on A321T aircraft only
  • LAX and Boston (BOS) – traveling on A321T aircraft only
  • LAX and Miami (MIA) – traveling on Boeing 777-300 aircraft only
With that being said, the Flagship lounge is very good indeed, even if you are limited to the buffet. Way better than the cheese and crackers you often simply find in AAdmirals lounges. Instead, there is champagne, sushi, various hot and cold meal items, showers, etc. I should also point out (and perhaps I am becoming a broken record on this point), that if you hold OneWorld Sapphire or Emerald status on an airline other than American or Alaskan (i.e. British Airways or Qantas for instance) you always have access to these Flagship lounges when flying a OneWorld partner like American, even if you are travelling domestically, including on arrival (indeed I once enjoyed a champagne at the Flagship lounge at LAX on arrival from an Alaska flight from Seattle).
