I've included my list of pros and some minor gripes below. But here's my overall assessment:

I've stayed at Guild Hall which is a more sensible option (cash rates are always far cheaper, and you save a bit with points too). The Beekman was definitely nicer... from the cool building vibes to the nicer touches in the room and bathroom... Plus the Beekman breakfast was better. And I found the Beekman to have easier subway access. But all that being said, I think next time I choose to stay in the area, I'll probably opt to save my points and return to the Guild Hall.

PROS:
Location was great... Easy subway access to get around the city. Midtown was just 20 minutes away.

Bed was comfy.

Chromcast worked.

Ambiance of building was cool.

Globalist breakfast was decent (though had some awkward quirks... I asked for gf toast with my Benedict... Not knowing that the benedict doesn't include bread...so I got charged for a side of toast. They took care of it for me; but it was weird- almost every other dish came with toast even though the menu didn't say so; yet the benedict didn't come with bread.)

GRIPES:
-the oatmeal on the breakfast menu was terrible... I've had better oatmeal on an airplane. It was waaaay too soupy, and it came with just 4 raisins and a couple almonds on top. Since it was free I didn't say anything; but if I had been paying for it, I'd have asked for something else in its place.

- no tea was provided with morning coffee service. Most Thompsons and other hotels that have morning coffee service also put out some tea (the thompson Hollywood has a fabulous assortment) It irks me that at a $600+ a night hotel, I had to bring my own tea.

- I had to log into the Internet each day of my five night stay. And I couldn't do it proactively.... I had to wait until an undetermined point in the afternoon when it decided to reset.

- the regular suite was nice for having room to spread out suitcases and for having the bathroom removed from the sleeping room (I'm an early bird and my partner is not). But it wasn't really a functional space. There was an uncomfortable and stained love seat and an awkward small round table crammed in to what's basically an extra wide hallway. I would definitely not pay for the suite, nor would I bother using an upgrade certificate on a shorter stay.
Did they recently change their Globalist breakfast policy? Have always ordered various extras (side of toast, side of fruit, etc.) with a main item and bill has always been zero-ed out.

Never had the oatmeal, but all there other dishes have been sublime.
