Neither AF nor KL is an integral part of your Flying Blue number - you can identify yourself as either. There's no internal "division" between AF numbers and KL numbers - there are only just Flying Blue numbers.
Random thought, and apologies for the off-topic, but I really can't recall if Fréquence Plus and Flying Dutchman card numbers were kept during the transition to FB, or if everybody was assigned a new number. Would be funny if you could still identify whose account originated in a FP or FD membership from 20 years ago.
